US Pavilion at the 2015 Milan World Expo

Redglass and I worked with Thinc Design as well as The State Department to create the media installations for the 2015 World Expo in Milan. We created 13 films for the pavilion which had an estimated 5 million visitors walk through its halls. Here is a selection of my favorites from this project.

The US Pavilion design incorporated a 4 screen video display at the entrance of the building. To create this display, we had to edit 4 separate videos at varying aspect ratios. We shot interviews using a bracket that allowed us to mount the camera sideways, capturing every pixel of detail that we could at the abnormal frame needed for this project.

The theme of the 2015 World Expo was food security, so in addition to interviewing politicians and President Obama, we got to shoot pieces with incredible chefs and farmers all over the United States.

With such a small crew, producer Sara'o Bery and I traveled to 6 different states in the span of a couple months to shoot and interview all of our subjects.

The full Redglass Pictures crew was on site for this unbelievable experience of interviewing President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, one of the last interviews we shot as part of this large scale project.
